Take it back Tuesday! On the left i was depressed, had low self esteem, felt uncomfortable hitting the club with my friends because I had to put a dress on, and these feelings showed in every aspect of my life. When I decided to take control of my life it saved me! I lost 122lbs in 8 months naturally by working as hard as I possibly could. I pushed myself every single day and treated weightloss as my job. I don’t see a weight loss transformation. I see a health journey beginning. Its not about what i look like. Its about how i feel. I dont measure the scale i measure health. Its amazing what consistent HEALTHY diet and exercise can do. No i did not eat unbelievably clean. I just ate 90/10 so yes i still had soda and starbucks and shit like that but focus on healthy stuff. And also i worked out 8 hours a week 4 days a week. I am done rambling now. I remember a time that I literally DREADED trying on clothes. I felt like no matter what I picked out, I hated how I looked in it and would get super frustrated and stressed out and it was overall just a terrible experience. It’s taken me a minute to post this, but here is a roughly six month transformation that I’ve undergone. Clearly a lot has changed in terms of the weight I have lost, but the reason I chose these two pictures is not because it shows the transformation the best. I chose these pictures because these were both days that I was really happy, and I think that is important to remember. Now, while I feel a lot better in terms of my health, I want to remember that no matter what my body looks like I’m happy with me and my life ❤️❤️ #transformationtuesday #transformation #weightlosstransformation

Nice little run at silly o clock this morning and some shoulder work afterwards. When I began my health journey, it felt so strange to be taking health and fitness advice from trainers and professionals who were in amazing physical shape. I asked every single one of them the same questions: have you ever been obese? Have you ever struggled with your weight? Have you ever struggled with healthy eating habits/binge eating/emotional eating? And every single one had the same answer: no. In any difficult situation in life, I don& #039;t think anyone can really understand a persons struggle unless they have been there themselves. A lot of people, friends and strangers alike, have asked me how I managed to get started and get my fitness and health back on track. While I will never claim to be an expert, (yet- I am going to be taking my personal training and other certifications soon) I feel like I have some valuable insights to share that may help some people get themselves started on a path to where they want to be. HOLY CHEESE AND CRACKERS 😱 Talk about a glow up 😩 I know it’s not #facetofacefriday but I’m posting this for #transformationtuesday because I’m in literal shock and because I can 😜💁🏻‍♀️💃🏻. I found this picture last night (which I’m extremely embarrassed to even post 😓) but it was a screen cap of a video I took back in 2013 right before I started my Weightloss journey. I found it in an oldddddd ass ig DM between me and my friend. I look at this picture in disbelief because I feel like I have no idea who that person is on the left. I feel like she’s an old friend or a distant cousin. My life was so hectic at that point and I was so depressed. I went to detox and got off of every medication I was on. Then we moved across town due to falling out with my family and I wanted to get as far away as possible as I could (dramatic😂.) I was in a new part of town with a toddler, no job, and one vehicle that my husband took to and from work. I was going insane and would have bouts of depression and mania (que mood disorder) along with intense periods of hyperfocus, obsessive thoughts, and binge eating (que adhd.) This is when I decided enough was enough. I started my Weightloss journey and got back on meds shortly after. They were the wrong ones but they helped take the edge off (thank god for my current psych/therapist.) I’m in a better place all around but still struggle with plenty of things including my self esteem and self worth. Life is a journey and all of these bits and pieces are here to teach us a lesson. I learned to be humble through years of obesity and now I am able to relate to so many people on so many levels. There is hope for us all, it just takes a lot of work to get something we truly want. I promise it’s so worth it though. I hope you babez have a GREAT Tuesday!!! 💖

Day 31 : New workout plan preparing for 10 K run. After 30 minuets daily run I will change to 1 hr switch with home workout. And I will start tracking the distance and time. What I’ve learned that I like to do is is increase the weights every time I move on to my next set. I also decrease the reps every set! I think it works your muscles better and is more beneficial!

18 yr old me vs 22 yr old me. I started my fitness journey back on June 1, 2015. I remember that day as the day I decided to change my outlook on life and get fit. I had just moved to NY and put on quite a bit of depression fat; I played video games all day, didn’t work, and ate lots of delicious food because I was sad lol. I was sick of wallowing in my sadness and decided to do something for myself. Cue fitness journey. Ever since then I’ve lost 20 lbs, gained 30 lbs (actually weigh 10 lbs more in the right photo lol, #screwthescale!!!), found a love for the gym and food again. At first when I initially lost weight, I got pretty afraid of food. I only ate “clean,” literally almost solely veggies and tofu. Never went out and when I did I was very “mindful” of what I ate. Now? I enjoy food again. I eat what I want, I exercise in a way I enjoy, and generally live life for happiness. I kinda had to repair my mindset during my weight gain process , because I had instilled a very disciplined/ altered outlook on food. I love the gym so I look forward each day when I go, and depending on how I feel, I work something different! My all time favorite workouts are upper body days. I know leg days are important but they’re just not my fave lol. Growth comes in more ways than just physical. Mentally I am so much stronger than I was when I was a young sprout getting to know the world. Well this is terrifying and vulnerable, but after a year of holding these pictures to myself, I& #039;ve finally built up the courage to share with you. On January 1st 2017, I committed to make small changes to improve my physical and mental health. In 8 months time I lost an amazing 70 pounds! Around this time last year is when it all came to a halt. I started to experience pain in my left arm, shoulder, and chest. Doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me. Terrified by chest pain and constant numbness in my left arm, I feared something was wrong with my heart. My anxiety disorder became unbareable. I stopped working out, and focused all my energy on my anxiety. Finally, after 6 doctors, a doctor finally explained to me that I had tore my pectoral muscle and shifted my rib cage to the point that my ribs on the front of my chest were pushing into my sternum, muscles in my back were stretched out, and muscles in my chest were compressed. Upon learning all this, I recalled an injury in the gym last summer when I tried holding myself up using my upper body strength and I felt a tremendous pain in my chest and shoulder. I avoided going to see a doctor at that time because I assumed nothing was wrong. I& #039;m now working to correcr this injury. Miraculously, I& #039;ve managed to stay within 10 pounds of my original weight loss. Now I& #039;m ready to finish what I started! This Wednesday marks 90 days until Christmas and I& #039;m planning on starting a 90 day commitment to reboot my weight loss! If anyone is interested in joining me, let& #039;s do this! Even tho I am almost a month into my second round of 80 Day Obsession - this routine still kicks my butt. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . . I sometimes struggle with the easiest of moves. Sometimes I have to go with lighter weights. Sometimes I have to modify. But every time I make sure I don’t get discouraged. I push my self to what ever is my limit that day, I work my butt off and feel proud. I have realised that not every day is going to be the same. I might be stronger, but if I haven’t had enough sleep, I been stressed out or just feeling a little down - it will impact my performance. The important thing is to - read your body, read the situation, learn from it and realise what’s needed in that moment. Never be discouraged. Make sure you focus on SELF CARE. Run a bath. Get a massage. Sometimes even just few extra minutes of stretching will do. Look after your body and your body will look after your performance. Keep going guys. Those awkward kitchen mirror selfies have changed quite a bit 😂 . I am in awe of how much Keto has changed me from the inside out. Not only did I reach the lowest weight I’ve ever been in my adult life, I’ve been able to maintain it for nine months now (I’ve put on some muscle weight—thanks bootcamp)! I’ve also been kinder to myself, forgiven myself, & have less binging episodes. For the first time in my life, I don’t feel like I’m on a diet. It’s a great #transformationtuesday 🙌🏻 . I recently posted a detailed explanation of what worked for me to get me from a size 12 to a size 4. For a quick reference, here is a summary 🙂 . I use MyFitnessPal; I kept net carbs under 20g. In maintenance, I’ve been more lenient and stay under 25-30 net carbs. . I do 18:6 intermittent fasting 4-5 days a week . I did not exercise consistently during the weight loss phase, but I do now and love it. . I indulge in "non keto" foods, probably on average once a month since starting keto. . I do consume alcohol (red wine and clear liquor) and artificial sweeteners (mostly Stevia and erythritol). . I plateaued more than once on the scale. Persist beyond setbacks! . Don’t give up!
