I have her log her food every day and started logging mine so that she can she what she needs to tweak, and also be cautious of how much carbs , sugar, protein she’s consuming. - - No way am I saying I eat perfect because I don’t but I do make sure I watch my carb intake and have enough veggies (they are so important )!! I want this to be real and raw as some people don’t really notice nutritional value like they should. Also COOKING AT HOME IS SO IMPORTANT. It’s often hard to know what exactly you are getting when eating out. I’m not putting her on a strict diet plan as after the program she will once again have to make her own decisions! - - Be aware of what you eat , watch your portion size , eat a lot of veggies , choose fruit over candy ect. No ones perfect (I am far from it and do cave and eat bad) but as both of us sit on our butts all day, it’s very important 💫❣️🚨🚨🙌🏼🔥

Sometimes we forget that people go through seasons like everything else, and ourselves as well as our friends will have good times and bad times. Will you love your friends when they are going through the darkness and anxiety or depression has robbed them of their regular spark? Will you be able to love yourself when you go through those dark times? Giving others grace is the defining characteristic of someone who not only makes friends but keeps them. Do you also give yourself grace? I find that self-compassion is the hardest internal virtue to consistently maintain, especially in this western world where we& #039;re constantly pushed to do more and be more and we& #039;re constantly being compared to others perfect social media lives. • • Remember this: your story is not over. Your story is yours alone to write and it& #039;s foolish to compare your story to others, the reasons you are where you are at in life is vastly different from anyone else. Dont compare your chapter 2 with someone else& #039;s chapter 11 but also remember that the chapters leading up to their chapter 11 are vastly different from your earlier chapters. That& #039;s what they mean when they say "be the best you you can be." You& #039;re story, your life, your personality, and your challenges are yours alone. Own them and recognize that comparison to others reaps no benefit. Focus on writing your story and invest heavily in yourself. • • And grace. Always give it to others but also give yourself grace. You are worth it. And honestly I& #039;m only writing this because I need to hear it. Hopefully someone else benefits from this but my god do I need to remember this.

Re-test week: Split jerk. Needed some sunshine today so I put on the yellow 15kgs that I don& #039;t usually bother using. Managed to get a 62.5kg PB (up 4.5kg), breaking into the big 60, and jerking what might be body weight. FULL BODY FOR THAT BAWWWDY, GURL! This kind of HIIT session is my fave style of work when I’m in a rush but really want to sweat. Perform each exercise for 1min, repeat each circuit 3x. Big Mike getting stronger and more confident! This is when I love what I do, seeing this young man making changes, shifting gears, walking taller. Training is not all about how you look. It is so much deeper when you are coaching people through their own personal obstacles and seeing them rise up getting over those hurdles. Mike came to with back issues and almost no physical training. Over the last year he has been learning to own himself, at first small steps, now strides. Faster, stronger, leaner!! I’m trying to be as open, honest, and vulnerable as I can be during my this time of trial that I’m currently attempting to navigate. As of right now, I’m heeding the advice of the people that I’m working with: No heavy lifting Walk Yoga Meditate Do nothing—easier said then do, that’s for sure. It’s been a little over a week and it’s a challenge everyday to combat negative thoughts, feelings of inadequacy, and so much more. But I’m also trying to use this time to meet new people, have new experiences, and rediscover old interests. I don’t have any words of wisdom or clarity to offer those of you struggling with similar things. But what I can say is this: You’re not alone. Want to dominate your deadlift? Or at least be able to pick up a heavy box off the ground without tweaking your back? The first step is being able to perfect the hip hinge pattern. The hips generate a lot of power, so you might as well use them! .. It is important to learn how to separate your hips and low back when bending forward. Often, individuals lack the posterior shift of the hips and compensate with rounding their back. There are many ways to go about correcting this - check out a progression below ⤵️ and videos above ⤴️ .. 1️⃣ Using a pvc pipe, you should maintain 3 points of contact throughout the entire movement - back of head, upper back, and between your glutes 2️⃣ Another way to address this is with sitting your hips back towards the wall 3️⃣ I often use a band (with and without weight) to get an individual comfortable with their hips moving backwards.
