Video from Monday - this was towards the end of the 12 rounds of 3 pull-ups (ring rows for me), 3 ring dips (real push-ups), and 3 power cleans. I started with 95 lbs on the bar and about halfway through the workout, I started thinking i should add weight. Sometimes you can’t control how your legs (and bones) are going to feel. Or your stomach. Or the weather. The only thing you can control is your mind. It’s mental toughness that brings you across that finish line. . Today marks 8 months since I found out I had a femoral neck stress fracture (thats a mouthful to say). And 9 months before that I found out I had a sacral stress fracture. Two major injuries within the same year did a lot of damage on my mental toughness. I’d be lying if I said that when I run I’m not scared something is going to break. One aspect I’m not sure about with regard to the best way to build up to a solid #handstand is the following: I’ve heard people say “don’t even think about pressing if you can’t hold a free handstand for at least 10 (or 20, or 30) seconds” and, from the other camp 😉, that it’s much easier to start with some kind of (assisted) press as you have less momentum that you have to (counter)balance. I can come up with reasons for both points of view, but I think the second one gives me a better feeling for handstand and also more control plus it builds strength more quickly as you’re longer in some kind of inverted pose 🤔. What do you think? . . Here’s a prop assisted #puppypress attempt I did at the gym, those plyo boxes are quite useful 👌. As I was pretty sore I didn’t get much hang time, but it stills feels better every time 🤗.

Freaking CARDIO day. Have I mentioned how much I loathe cardio day? 🤦😵 . It definitely challenges me the most. And I know deep down it really is what my body needs on days like today. Credit to @ironmel140.6 : The run: I’m always so grateful to be on my own two feet! Toward the end of the bike it started to get hot, really hot! I knew this would be an issue on the run as the run is fully exposed. But I also knew how to best manage the heat. It was a long way to that first aid station. Once I got there I knew I needed to get some water and ice! Ice has become a life saver during hot races. I got what I needed and continued on. A couple of minutes later, I glanced over to quickly spy @where_your_feet_take_you I yelled at Kayla as she blew past me like I was standing still!! At every aid station I’d grab water, ice and the occasional @cocacolaor @redbulland lots of ice. I made it through the first lap and headed out for my second. By this point I knew it wouldn’t be a PR day and I was ok with that. I stayed strong and just kept running. With just under a 5K to go I saw @chadbuntingIt’s amazing how seeing a familiar smiling face (and getting some butt slaps 🍑) can lift your spirits!! I knew I was close and I’d soon be done!! I just kept putting one foot in front of the other to get me to that finish line quicker. This definitely wasn’t the run split I had hoped for. But there were a lot of positives!! I stayed on top of my nutrition through the whole run. I may have been slower than even last year but I felt stronger than I have running in a long time!! I had minimal to no pain in my Achilles!! 🙌🏼 And I was just happy to be out there racing. I gave every kid I could a high five and thanked all the volunteers. I encouraged every runner I passed or who passed me. And I thanked everyone on the course who told me I looked great (even though I knew they were lying to me). It’s been a minute since I’ve done a track workout. And started it out with 1,000 repeats. I’m not gonna lie...I was a little scared. And I might have delayed starting that first set. They were tough! Luckily @runtritammet me at the track (she was doing an easy/recovery day). She was the perfect motivation...she met me for the final 200+ of each set and pushed me to finish strong. This morning was HARD. I was so tired , the cramps are real, & it’s a rest day in my program. I got up, I drank my magic juice, I put on my workout gear and I did the damn thing. WHY you may ask? Because I strive to be the best me every single day. I know I will thank myself for the decisions I am making NOW. I have to sit throughout this training all day and I know this will help me feel more energized and just all around better. Some days we have to force ourselves to do the HARD things but ya know what? I would rather do that now to have good health, to feel so good every day, to help my life be more positive, to have better relationships, to be the best me I can be! You can to girl, you just gotta stop with the excuses and figure out what is really important to you!🤷‍♀️ . . . #choosetolive #healthyandhappy #faithoverfear #believeinyou #strongerthanyesterday

Oh my yummy 😋 Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins🍌🍪 Gluten free, grain free and almost added sugar free. ⠀ All you have to do to make these muffins is throw all the ingredients minus the chocolate chips in a blender and pour it in a muffin tin. Top with a few chocolate chips. Bake at 400F for 8 minutes. Each muffin has around 100 calories if you make 24 of them. A lot of these calories come from the peanut butter. You could certainly get creative and come up with some ways to reduce the amount of peanut butter if you are interested in being more calorie conscious. There are other nut/seed butters that are lower calorie but more expensive. Happy Wednesday all! After stretch & tone and also training biceps and triceps yesterday my arms are feeling like jelly and also pumped at the same time! 😅 I’ve been eating slightly more and upped my protein and my body is responding. I think we’re all trying to constantly change and improve but at the moment I am actually happy with my weight and how I look. I’m just trying to get stronger and see what I can lift with a stronger diet and a different workout plan! I can be slightly leaner and have been but I choose to look healthy and live a sustainable life where I go out and eat, drink and enjoy myself yet still train hard and feel 💪🏼 ! We should all be proud of the achievements we reach during our workouts, even if we have pushed our PB by 1kg it’s still better than the day before! #strongerthanyesterday #flex #bardellosport #gymgirl #gymlifestyle #fitspo #fitfam #fitness #fitnessjourney #fitnessmotivation #girlswholift #girlsthatlift #nutrition #food #happy #livehappyandhealthy

These last few days have been a struggle, from losing our Key 🐾 to other issues going on that I& #039;ve been in a funk. Just not in the right mindset and felt like a dark cloud over my head. . Today I decided that I need to get back in my groove and realized being down won& #039;t change reality of Key being gone, tho we miss him so much. Life doesn& #039;t stop because of heartache right!! . Today I had my happy shake and worked out, these small things make such a difference for me in my mood and energy. Struggle brings us more strength mind and body. Determined to move to a higher level of mindfulness and gratitude for what I do have!! Family, friends, roof over my head, food to provide fuel for my body (not to self medicate my feelings) and all the other good things I have in my life. . Believe in you! These last few days have been a struggle, from losing our Key 🐾 to other issues going on that I've been in a funk. Just not in the right mindset and felt like a dark cloud over my head. .
Today I decided that I need to get back in my groove and realized being down won't change reality of Key being gone, tho we miss him so much. Life doesn't stop because of heartache right!! .
Today I had my happy shake and worked out, these small things make such a difference for me in my mood and energy. Struggle brings us more strength mind and body. Determined to move to a higher level of mindfulness and gratitude for what I do have!! Family, friends, roof over my head, food to provide fuel for my body (not to self medicate my feelings) and all the other good things I have in my life. .

This happened today. 50lbs of weight is officially gone(I don’t count decimals lol). I’ve lost 10,15,25,30,40 and even 49lbs. Never 50. When numbers fascinate you, this is a big deal lol! I’m a strange geek to numbers! This was a HUGE goal for me and also a fear. Fear of will I want to keep going. Fear of success is very real. Thankfully I haven’t just lost the weight. I’ve gained mental control I’ve never had in the past. This is why I know I can plow past it and it’s why I know I can keep going. 2lbs at a time! Today is my grandfathers birthday. This man was more than a Grandpop he was a father, he excepted me for me, he taught me a lot growing up and I’ll never forget that. Last weeks ab circuit ✅ Had to speed this up and cut some out raw footage on my Fb page 3 rounds for 12 reps each set for a total of 18 sets Knee raises/leg raises/side knee raises 🔥 in between each set I performed the cable twists you see in the beginning for 10 reps each side 🔥 Again footage is sped up but remember to control your breathing/movement

I saw this, and just had to share! That’s all social media is these days, everyone flashing around their good days, their money and possessions, all the good in their lives, their amazing relationships, their healthy meals, but what they aren’t showing you is the bad days. They aren’t showing you about the horrible fights they have with their significant other, they aren’t showing you that giant bag of chips they just ate, the tears they may be crying because something just isn’t right. Unfortunately, I have yet to learn that I need to stop comparing my EVERY DAY life with the highlight reels everyone displays to get likes. Been focusing on trying to get my head right and realize life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows...in order to get those rainbows you’ve gotta have a little rain first!! Back in town for a few hours and packed so super busy with things to do.... Still made sure to get my trainings in even if it meant getting up at 4am to train by 5am!!!! No excuses.
