Coaches are always getting shit on or blamed when the outcomes aren’t as the athletes expect. Yes there are shitty coaches and yes not all athletes click with every coach and a coaches style and delivery will not always work with everyone. I for one have had athletes who can’t handle my straight from the hip, direct, no bullshit style. But some athletes simply aren’t athletes, simply aren’t cut out for this sport, and some athletes simply aren’t coachable. The coaches I know and respect put a lot of time into their athletes and have a passion and desire that exists that is not readily seen, especially by athletes in the deepest parts of prep. Tips to have a good workout👇🏼 (Read it all) - 1️⃣Eat a full meal an hour or more before your workout. You don’t want to eat a bunch of complex carbs and fats right before your workout. - 2️⃣Drink a ton of water. Water will help speed digestion and move food from the stomach. You don’t want to feel full or bloated during your workout. - 3️⃣Take a good preworkout like @1upnutritionpre about 15 mins before the gym. Don’t over stimulate yourself, I only use 1/2 scoop and it does the trick for me. Also, I’ve been mixing a little pre with my BCAA’s and loving the boost of energy throughout my whole workout. - When I first started lifting I would always go in the mornings before school. A mistake I made was I’d wake up and have a huge meal right before the gym because I was trying to gain muscle. Then I would go to the gym and wonder why my energy levels weren’t there and my stomach was bloated. I’d take a full scoop of pre maybe 2 but still didn’t feel 100%. I should of had a light meal maybe with some simple carbs and a little protein, then had my big meal after! Self explanatory right? - When I started lifting, I really just wanted a solid chest and abs to look good from the front. A few months in, I realized how sick delts look from the side when they are well developed and really wanted well developed shoulders from the side too. I don’t think I cared about back for a few years since I ain’t got no eyes in the back of my head 👀. - It’s common for teenagers to message me asking how to build up one specific body part when the truth is that particular body part isn’t actually lagging behind but they just happen to care about it more. One of the mistakes I made when I was younger was focusing only on body parts that were important to me at the time and neglecting everything else. I remember I had a back and bicep day but only cared about biceps so I did about 3 sets for back and 12 for biceps 🙈.
