My girls and I were visiting with a woman from church today who lives in the other side of town, so when we left her house at 12:15 (15 mins before nap time 😑) and I realized my kids needed things like lunch, water, a potty, etc we decided to stop at @hummusbowls😍 It was more than the 3 of us could eat, and even with an extra side of pita, it cost less than $10! . Eating healthy CAN be expensive (like at airports 😡), but not everywhere! There is hope, and continuing to increase our demand for healthy food (by patronizing businesses) and decrease the demand for other things is how we vote with our dollar.

In all honesty fitness has changed my life. Working out, eating clean, and feeling better about myself has made me realize what life truly has to offer. I grew struggling with my weight and never learning how to keep the pounds off but also enjoy the sweet things in life. There were nights where i wouldn’t let my friends invite “the boys” around (ironically i ended up with a female) because i was too insecure of my body, and felt like i was always the DUFF. It wasn’t untill i finally took control of my body and started to realize i didn’t have to feel this way anymore, i didn’t have to cry trying on prom dresses or shame myself for being plus sized. It wasn’t until i finally did something for myself that i began to love myself again. And it wasn’t because i lost weight, it was because for the first time i did something for myself. I went out and i worked hard to not benefit anyone but myself. And growing up we are taught it’s not okay to be selfish but what if it is? When you are trying to build healthy habits, especially if you are going all in, it’s often quite difficult to give yourself permission to “be selfish” when society tells you “fitness isn’t a priority.” We all say “I’d love to exercise more,” but the reality is this: it’s not what we say is a priority, but rather what we DO that’s the real priority. This is me giving you permission to give yourself permission to be selfish for a month while you’re getting the ball rolling. Not going to lie I was feeling pretty exhausted by 8PM tonight 😰. I had not trained yet and it had been SUCH a busy day (which I love) ☺️. BUT I almost picked up my bag and left the gym without training. The thought of sitting my arse on the sofa sounded so much more appealing, but then I remembered it’s not going to in anyway get me any closer towards reaching my goals 🤷🏻‍♀️. So I sucked it up, put on some Linkin Park and had one of the best shoulder sessions I think I have ever had👌🏻🔥. SO glad I powered through. Power through the days you don’t want too and I can GUARANTEE you that you will come out the other side feeling a million times better! Don’t sit and wait around for motivation to arrive on your doorstep. 🍑Glute Isolation Video🍑 Here’s a new variation to try out on the hip adductor machine! I do isolation work at the end of my workouts. — To do this, place your knees on the seat of the adductor machine, put you ankles where the pads are, keep your foot dorsal flexed, keep your glutes engaged and core tight, then push your feet inwards. Use the same amount of pressure on both sides. Squeeze your butt checks together!!!! Your butt should look funny hehe 🤣 — Play around with how you have your upper body placed, but be sure to not arch your low back or hunch your upper back. It can change how you feel it in your glute minimus and medius!

So happy to have a super flexible workout program like this one! • I was supposed to run today, but by the time I got done taking the kids to school (first day of school) & my hair appointment it was in the 80’s & I wasn’t feeling like running. Thankfully I can swap my days around & got this doozy out of the way for the week!😳 • I know I’m going to feel going heavier today, but it feels amazing to be able to lift heavy when 4 weeks ago that was a huge struggle for me! • • If you are looking for a workout to do alongside running or any other activity that is only 4 days a week & under 40 minutes each day this is for you! But, 8-16 ounces of coffee or tea per day is healthy. . You can also use decaf to “resensitize” your body to caffeine. Three weeks of caffeine and one week off is a perfect cycle. . One of the things that got me really into Yoga was IG yoga challenges. Many moons ago I used to do them all the time. I realized I have changed and I lost even the joy of working out. I would get sleepy while working out (who does that!?) So I decided to give Yoga a try again. Not one sleepy bone in this body. Just a sense of calm. I didn& #039;t find a challenge I felt good to do. So, I am just sharing the journey and sharing the pose that got my attention as my personal challenge. Today is Salabhasana or Locust Pose. ❤ #embracegr8ness

No matter how indulgent the term may sound, self-care is crucial for our physical, emotional and mental well-being. - This is something I’ve really been trying to practice. Having a family to take care of can become overwhelming at times and we often forget about ourselves and what makes us happy. You shouldn’t feel bad doing something for yourself or saying NO to something you don’t want to do. Have you ever just decided to make a switch in your life? Not just a physical change but a mental one. You’ve gotten so used to the same routine everyday, that you’ve maybe forgotten who you are and what drove you to get up out of bed in the morning. Your dreams and ambitions that you left on the back burners because you’re distracted by just trying to survive in everyday life. Well I’m guilty of this and I forgot what my “why” is.
