    Hitting the predetermined target height is a must as is squatting at least until the tops of your thighs are parallel to the ground.⠀

    #Coaching cues are snippets of information, or task-orientated information, used to teach an #athlete how to perform the task. Successful coaching largely depends on the coach’s ability to communicate with the athlete using simple and effective coaching cues. Cues which are too long, too complex, and are quite simply just too complicated, are unlikely to teach the athlete the desired #skill .

    When refining or #learning a new skill, the athlete’s focus of attention plays an important role in the acquisition of that skill; therefore, emphasising the importance of an appropriate cue.
    #
    Despite coaching often being referred to as an “art”, there is growing scientific evidence to suggest that evidence-based practice can improve the coach’s delivery. The type of coaching cue used appears to significantly influence both the immediate performance of the athlete (i.e., short-term learning) and the retention of the skill/performance when repeated at a later date (i.e., long-term learning). More specifically, external cues, which focus the athlete’s attention on the outcome of the task, instead of the body movements needed to perform it (i.e., internal cues), appear to be the most effective form of cueing in the majority of contexts studied.

    Modern technology allows #remotecoaches to provide visual and written feedback that client can review at any point in time. Progress is captured and ongoing comparisons allow coach and client to witness the improvements from each consecutive #training block.

  • Yesterday was a good day! Despite being so busy, I still managed to eat very well and even had my fave @nutella B-Ready bar as a treat! Harley and I did a HIIT workout on the stepper after our chest session and it reminded me of how fit I was before the summer as it was much more of a struggle yesterday 😅... still, I completed it though! 👊🏼👊🏼 #fitness #healthyfood #vegan #lovefitness #fitnessjourney

  • Push ups are one of the most basic and well known bodyweight exercises known! 💪🏼

    Not only that, but they are also a great exercise to perform to help carve out a great chest area, arms and abdominals.

    With this in mind here’s a short push up workout that’ll have your chest burning and you feeling in great in only a 20 minute workout session. 🙌🏼

    1️⃣Left Leg Elevated Push Up, 10 reps.
    2️⃣Dive Bomb Push Up, 9 reps.
    3️⃣Knee To Chest Push Up, 8 reps.
    4️⃣Clapping Push Up, 7 reps.
    5️⃣Left Knee To Elbow Push Up, 6 reps.
    6️⃣Right Knee To Elbow, 6 reps.
    7️⃣Clapping Push Up, 7 reps.
    8️⃣Knee To Chest Push Up, 8 reps.
    9️⃣Dive Bomb Push Up, 9 reps.
    🔟Right Leg Elevated Push Up, 10 reps.

    As you can see the exercises are related in a pyramid style, working your way down in reps then back up to keep challenging you and making it harder as you get more tired! 😅
