Who else loves their leg days?🍑 - Recently started going heavy again. In the past I was always scared of messing with my sciatic nerve again. But the only way to get over a fear is to just jump back into it like nothing happened, and that’s just what I did. 🍾🎊 - After overcoming my fear, I couldn’t imagine NOT having my heavy leg days. How do I stay refreshed, energized, and refueled when I eat? Well, I’m glad I pretended that you asked! I eat! But, I choose to be selective about what I eat and when. Yes, I treat myself and I love food, but I have learned over time to appreciate my food and appreciate my body through eating the right foods for my body. That’s right, the right food for MY body. Our bodies are all so different. We look different, move different, gain different... so why would we all be healthy or lose weight in the same way? For me, intermittent fasting and a vegan diet really helped my body get on track. But that was after A LOT of playing around and eliminating different foods, adding back some of those foods, and assessing what my body needed and what it was lacking. What I will never do, is deprive myself. Eating is such a joyful experience and has a rich history in culture and society, food is beautiful. But it requires effort to find what nutrition matches your personal goals in the best way! You can learn more through my challenge group starting 8/20! I still have a few open spots and I would love for you to join!

Tips to have a good workout👇🏼 (Read it all) - 1️⃣Eat a full meal an hour or more before your workout. You don’t want to eat a bunch of complex carbs and fats right before your workout. - 2️⃣Drink a ton of water. Water will help speed digestion and move food from the stomach. You don’t want to feel full or bloated during your workout. - 3️⃣Take a good preworkout like @1upnutritionpre about 15 mins before the gym. Don’t over stimulate yourself, I only use 1/2 scoop and it does the trick for me. Also, I’ve been mixing a little pre with my BCAA’s and loving the boost of energy throughout my whole workout. - When I first started lifting I would always go in the mornings before school. A mistake I made was I’d wake up and have a huge meal right before the gym because I was trying to gain muscle. Then I would go to the gym and wonder why my energy levels weren’t there and my stomach was bloated. I’d take a full scoop of pre maybe 2 but still didn’t feel 100%. I should of had a light meal maybe with some simple carbs and a little protein, then had my big meal after! I often wonder what the heck my life would look like if I didn’t start this journey? It’s damn near impossible to imagine but I truly feel like I would never have evolved into the person I am without it.

So yeah, having muscles are cool. Looking “sexy and fit” is neat for a hot minute. But the life lessons, the person you become.... it’s the best gift you can ever give to yourself 💕 I workout because I love myself and who I am when I take care of myself. I can give back so much more!!!!
