  • The first fall of snow is not only an event, it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?

  • Monday Funday is my new thing, because I don& #039 ;t work until 3 & have the luxury of doing two loads of laundry, grocery shopping and making sure the fridge is stocked to avoid 9 PM take-out orders. It snowed yesterday (Minnesota is weird) and the uproar of angsty & #039 ;sotans was kind of humorous. Typically, I& #039 ;d be leading that chorus but there was something about yesterday& #039 ;s snowfall that did a little magic trick for me. Seasons change faster than we wish sometimes, in weather and in life. (yep, food pic getting philosophical) I think there is an immense amount of beauty in being fully able to accept and grow with the changes life presents you, timely or otherwise. Having the ability to see snow-covered vibrant fall leaves, early + uninvited and knowing it wouldn& #039 ;t last-- it was a temporary (and beautiful) inconvenience & made me oddly pleased. Like yes, I am not prepared for full blown winter, but we ALL make it through! If you& #039 ;re going through anything tough, be kind to yourself and remember that this is just one of life& #039 ;s many, many seasons. Also, make soup? Disclaimer: this is leftover soup and I am not in a bad season, but on any given day at least one person reading this may be! If it& #039 ;s you, definitely make some soup.

  • Happy Monday! ✨ And yes, there is such a thing as having a good and happy Monday! ✨ We are in a season of change, so we challenge you to change the way you view periods and change the way you discuss them. Be more open and more open minded about our menstrual cycles! One day we will break the stigma with your help and support!

  • “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.”- Susan Kassem ⠀

I remember at the beginning of this yoga class the instructor had said we were going to attempt this pose at the end.⠀

I had already made up in my mind that this pose probably was not going to happen for me. I started thinking about my lack of shoulder mobility and my tight hip flexors. ⠀

I ran through a list in my head of all the reasons why I knew I could not do this pose.⠀

At the end of the class when it came time to actually attempt this pose, I gave a very feeble first attempt.⠀

I wasn’t even going to take a second attempt but something came over me. I thought fuck this! I had never even tried it so how could I possibly know that I couldn’t do it. ⠀

And wouldn’t you know it I managed to actually lift myself off the ground and hold it for a few seconds. ⠀

I see this a lot when someone is considering embarking on a health journey. They’ve identified as the person who follows a program for a couple weeks and then falls off the wagon and gains their weight back. They cling to that identity, the same way that I have clung to the idea that I am not flexible therefore I never will be. ⠀

What a limiting believes are you holding on to you right now?
