  • Let& #039 ;s talk for a moment about social media and the word "fake": I have seen a common thread throughout this year and that has been comments about how social media is portraying a fake and unattainable/unrelatable lifestyle. And trust me I get that - as a human I& #039 ;m not immune to comparing myself to what I see online. The thing is, as brands and people who build their businesses online we know how much work goes in to a social media post - some call it fake, others call it brand assets and planning a schedule.
    .
It might come as a surprise but most of what you see online has been planned, styled, and scheduled. Even Instastories - yes, I& #039 ;m here to shatter the illusion. The reality is for most brands even their "real time" content like stories have been planned and scheduled using apps. Don& #039 ;t get me wrong, some people work better posting real time but if you want a consistent schedule to beat the algorithm and get your posts seen by your audience you have to strategically plan when and what you post. Social media managers usually create content in bulk and schedule it in for the week/month ahead to make sure all their client accounts are consistent. Small business owners have a small window of working in their own brand so they use that to create and schedule. Bloggers style their content for maximum engagement and to show the products in the best light. I& #039 ;d love to tell you this photo was taken hours earlier and I really look like this right now - in reality, we took this weeks ago during a blog shoot and right now I& #039 ;m in cosys with no makeup and a pineapple bun feeling a bit pooey (& #039 ;& #039 ;tis the season 😷🤧)
    .
More of us are starting to talk about the "behind the scenes" of social media and shedding the truth on how content is really made which I think is great - after all we know that publishing an ad takes time, styling, and preparation - well, social media is the new "ad" for businesses and influencers.
    .
But I want to hear from you - do you like seeing styled and branded content from the accounts you follow, or do you prefer to see raw unedited content? Both as a business and as a consumer, what do you think? ✨

  • Sometimes I can smile so silly!! I don& #039 ;t know, something happens to me when I tell my sister to click my pics.. I feel extra high-alert bombs set off in my head when someone I don& #039 ;t know takes my picture.. I will do great with a tripod and an empty room.. Just not me to stand there and be hot model.. But, like every 2018 person should be, get that thing working for you in front of the camera 😁😁😁
    .
Outfit post will be up once October is over, I think 😆
