  • ‘An Elephant Never Forgets’, digital pen & ink and acrylic. Apparently there is some scientific merit to this expression when one considers an elephant’s use of their 10.5 pound brain to remember faces, scents, and other memories critical to survival. A matriarchal society, elephants in the wild can live 60-70 years under optimal conditions. I grew up in prime elk country in Southwestern Colorado and understand hunting as a part of an ecosystem and conservation. Rather than stand up on my soap box this morning, suffice it to say that I am unable to find data that supports a credible conservation argument for capture of elephants for use in a circus or a zoo nor in support of poaching or big game hunting of elephants.

  • "I am a sporadic writer; I keep a notepad with me at all times and whenever I have down time I think about the play and find a moment or a scene. If I get stuck I’ll go running and let me mind wander into the world of the play. That’s when I work a lot of plot points out. And booze. That helps too." • Me and Maleia recently started reading a really special book called “Get over your damn self” I haven’t finished the book yet but something mentioned to the extent was to let go of the past. Why hold a grudge? What good does that do for you? I’ve had the #mindset for a long time that #anelephantneverforgets but I have the wrong mindset. While some people have caused me a great deal of #dissapointment I realize it’s time to start #lettinggo

  • Despite living in Thailand for more than six months, I strayed away from contributing to animal cruelty and taking a ride on this majestic creature due to the utterly unregulated abuse that goes on behind the scenes. Thought Taweechai was possibly an exception to the norm but, upon digging deeper, found out it apparently isn& #039 ;t. Amazing experience but never again.

  • In 1912 the British steamship the SS Californian set out from London to cross the Atlantic Ocean toward Boston. In the midst of their journey they encountered a loose ice field and stopped for the night, thinking it would be a quiet evening. But then in the not so far distance, the crew saw eight distress rockets fire from a ship within ten miles from them. The crew tried to rouse Captain Stanley Lord from sleep to heed the call, but he refused to believe there was imminent danger. Even after the crew watched the lights of the ship flicker and then go black, Captain Lord refused to engage. It was in the early moments of dawn when the wireless operator started his shift that they realized they were the ship that watched Titanic sink. ("On the Horizon" by Shelli Pentimall Bookler)
